Miners

These pages provide an A-Z of Hamstead Miners. Thanks is given to Iron Mountain for providing the initial list of nearly 1,400 names. Many names still need to be added as time allows.

Given the long history of the mine and the number of workers it is a difficult job to even consider remembering all their names here. Our starter list is based on records from the National Coal Board and is limited to surname and initial. Other names are added as links with Hamstead are found but we welcome additional information on individual miners so more detail can be added over time for each individual.

Miners are organised by surname, with a separate page for each letter.
